Job Summary

The Project Controls Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project controls, including planning, quantities, scheduling, and cost control. This role ensures that the project progresses as planned, adheres to budgetary constraints, and meets the established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Cost Control:
    1. Establish and manage project budgets, including contingency planning.
    2. Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring alignment with the budget.
    3. Prepare cost forecasts and financial reports for senior management.
    4. Conduct cost variance analysis and recommend cost-saving measures.
  2. Planning and Scheduling:
    1. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate various schedules into a master project schedule.
    2. Monitor project progress, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
    3. Programme milestone implementation and forecasting.
  3. Reporting and Documentation:
    1. Prepare and present regular progress reports to stakeholders, including executive summaries and detailed analysis.
    2. Ensure that all project documentation is up to date and accurately reflects the project's status.
    3. Maintain records of all project control activities and decisions.
    4. EVM analysis and reporting.
    5. Quantities progress tracking, forecasting, and recommending corrective actions from project team.
  4. Stakeholder Coordination:
    1. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, section Project Director, Project Managers, Project Planners, and Commercial team.
    2. Facilitate meetings and workshops to discuss project controls issues and solutions.
    3. Ensure effective communication and information flow among project team members.
  5. Leadership & Behavioural:
    1. Managing others - including delegating, coordinating, appraising, coaching, and developing/mentoring employees with less experience.
    2. Persuading and influencing clients, consultants, suppliers, and colleagues.
    3. Working with others to create and deliver persuasive presentations.
    4. Tackling problems that do not have an obvious solution.
    5. Taking initiative and making decisions when required for the benefit of the project.
