In this role, you will oversee the flagship product, the HTML video player, utilized by over 300 million users monthly, both on our platform and on high-traffic websites leveraging our technology.
We are in search of a Team Lead who is adaptable, responsible, and capable of innovative thinking. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a team of development engineers through recruitment, constructive feedback, and hands-on career advancement. Foster a healthy, collaborative engineering culture focused on delivering business value.
- Oversee the workload and project assignments of direct reports and engage in company-wide staffing initiatives. Advocate for agile software development practices and help cultivate exceptional engineering and organizational methodologies.
- Collaborate closely with other engineering managers and product managers to understand the context of incoming requirements, shape solutions, and translate product needs into actionable projects.
- Ensure timely project delivery by reviewing, directing, and guiding the work of all engineers, either directly or through senior engineers.
- Enhance team productivity by steering the technical vision of the core platform that supports all our use cases.
- Engage in roadmap definition and delivery as well as company strategic decision-making.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a technical manager with a solid understanding of project technicalities. Previous experience as a manager or team lead, ideally for a development engineering team, is essential.
- Ability to challenge and develop team members: you can critique technical designs and project milestones, promote experimentation, and uphold quality standards.
- Capability to create and present a compelling vision/roadmap for your team.
- Experience as an engineer with a track record of delivering projects even when requirements are not fully defined.
- Deliver high-quality, tested code on schedule, adhering to industry best practices and meeting all product and technical specifications.
- Ability to collaborate with various business sectors (product, data) and multiple stakeholders (engineers, infrastructure, product managers, devops, etc.).
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for technology, consistently proposing enhancements for improvement.
- Proficient in written and verbal English (documentation, team presentations, meetings).
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with web development, web architecture, JSON/RPC, REST API.
- Experience with collaborative software engineering practices: agile development, continuous delivery, code review/pairing, unit testing.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture.
- Experience with modern frontend development frameworks (React/Preact or similar).
- Proven interest in problem-solving and technical innovation.
Nice to Have
- Good understanding of Python or PHP.
- Experience with JavaScript SDK development.
- Experience with SQL databases (MySQL).
- Familiarity with continuous integration, continuous deployment testing, and automation tools (Jenkins, etc.) and Docker.
