The Image Analysis Hub (IAH) of the Institut Pasteur is seeking a research engineer to contribute to the development of image processing pipelines and computational infrastructure for cryo-electron microscopy (EM) and photonic imaging.
The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with senior engineers in the IAH and beyond to develop image pre-processing pipelines and computational infrastructure to harness data generated in cryo-electron microscopy.
Key Responsibilities- Develop image pre-processing pipelines and computational infrastructure for cryo-EM and photonic imaging
- Offer image analysis services to the campus for imaging modalities involving EM image data and fluorescence microscopy image data
- Collaborate with users of the campus and beyond to help them on their projects with bioimage analysis
- Travel to acquire specific expertise as required
- Hold an engineering or master's degree in (bio)informatics, (bio)physics, applied mathematics or any other related domain, followed by at least 3 years of professional experience in bioimage analysis in research or support to research activity
- Or hold a PhD in bioinformatics, (bio)physics, applied mathematics or any other related domain
- Strong experience with image processing, data visualization, and scientific software development
- Good knowledge of relevant Image Analysis techniques
- Good programming skills (most relevant are Python, Java, C/C++)
- Will and taste to collaborate with others on their projects
- Team player with good communication skills and a sense of accountability
