Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our team at the Image Analysis Hub (IAH) of the Institut Pasteur. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of image processing pipelines and computational infrastructure for cryo-electron microscopy (EM) and photonic imaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop image pre-processing pipelines and computational infrastructure to harness data generated in cryo-electron microscopy
  • Offer image analysis services to the campus, for imaging modalities involving EM image data and fluorescence microscopy image data
  • Collaborate with senior engineers in the IAH and beyond to achieve mission objectives
Requirements
  • Hold an engineering or master's degree in (bio)informatics, (bio)physics, applied mathematics or any other related domain, followed by at least 3 years of professional experience in bioimage analysis in research or support to research activity
  • Or hold a PhD in bioinformatics, (bio)physics, applied mathematics or any other related domain
  • Strong experience with image processing, data visualization, and scientific software development
  • Good knowledge of relevant Image Analysis techniques
  • Good programming skills (most relevant are Python, Java, C/C++)
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with biological imaging, particularly with EM
  • Experience in cryo-EM and cryo tomography data analysis
  • Experience with workflow management tools
