Job Overview:
The Automation Support Specialist will report directly to the Technology Implementation Manager. This position entails offering guidance, support, and technical expertise to manufacturing facilities in the design and enhancement of automation and control systems aimed at improving operational efficiency and plant performance in processes such as Calcination, Drying, Mixing, and Forming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with team members to maintain Environmental Health & Safety Standards
- Oversee the deployment of manufacturing optimization and process control technologies
- Assist Process and Plant Teams with various enhancement initiatives
- Engage in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities
- Provide specialized knowledge on Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and other database-driven solutions, SCADA, and Real-Time Data Analysis to optimize production
- Conduct automation evaluations, recommend improvement strategies, and assist in plant implementation
- Deliver training and mentorship on Automation & Control to project teams and plant staff
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in automation, industrial control systems, and process control applications
- Lead investigations and analytical studies with minimal oversight
- Consult across departments on systems and operational processes
International travel of up to 50% may be required to provide on-site assistance and participate in Technical Training Courses.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering or Science
- At least 5 years of experience as an Automation Engineer in a manufacturing setting
- In-depth knowledge of Automation and Control Systems
- Familiarity with Process Engineering principles
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in teams and collaborate
