Research Context and Objectives

Hyperbolic metamaterials exhibit unique properties, such as negative refraction and backward wave propagation. These materials have potential applications in sensors, antennas, and imaging technologies. Our research focuses on the mathematical modeling of hyperbolic metamaterials, particularly in unbounded domains.

Main Activities

We are seeking a candidate with expertise in numerical analysis and solid complex analysis to work on the well-posedness of boundary-value problems in hyperbolic metamaterials. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of new mathematical models and numerical methods for wave propagation in these materials.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in numerical analysis, solid complex analysis, and programming skills in MATLAB or C++. Experience with hyperbolic metamaterials and wave propagation is highly desirable.

Benefits

  • Subsidized meals
  • Partial reimbursement of public transport costs
  • Leave: 7 weeks of annual leave + 10 extra days off due to RTT (statutory reduction in working hours) + possibility of exceptional leave
  • Possibility of teleworking and flexible organization of working hours
  • Professional equipment available (videoconferencing, loan of computer equipment, etc.)
  • Social, cultural, and sports events and activities
  • Access to vocational training
