Position Overview:

Darwin Partners is on a trajectory of rapid growth as we enhance our capabilities in the energy sector. Our focus is on acquiring innovative energy assets, including renewable sources like wind and solar, as well as energy storage solutions. This expansion necessitates a significant increase in trading activities and a pressing need for process automation, which presents various challenges for our IT infrastructure. The team will play a crucial role in supporting the Short-Term Power and Asset Trading operations through the development of high-performance trading systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison to the Power Trading division, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of business goals and priorities while proactively suggesting solutions that add value.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to articulate business and functional requirements, ensuring alignment with the overall systems architecture and Trading IT strategy.
  • Engage with technical teams, including software and application engineers, to design and implement effective solutions.
  • Develop and execute testing protocols, ensuring adherence to user, business, and functional specifications as well as IT compliance standards.
  • Work in close partnership with Business Analysts and other IT professionals across the Trading IT landscape.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and resource allocation for your project team.
  • Provide user assistance and support in resolving incidents and issues.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a utility or commodity trading environment, with a solid understanding of power trading and scheduling.
  • Familiarity with short-term and physical power trading, including scheduling and optimization methodologies.
  • Strong enthusiasm for IT and technological advancements.
  • Proficient in both French and English.
