Your Role as a Safety Engineer
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Engineer to play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and safety of our rail systems. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust safety documentation throughout the design process and ensuring continuous improvement during operation.
- Define Safety Standards: Collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers to define clear safety objectives and requirements, incorporating acceptable risk levels and cascading them effectively across all project phases.
- Conduct In-Depth Analyses: Perform comprehensive safety analyses, including FMECA (Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis), to identify potential hazards and critical components within our rail systems.
- Optimize System Performance: Contribute to the design of bogies and other system architectures, ensuring they meet contractual reliability, availability, and safety standards. Propose innovative technical solutions to enhance overall system performance.
- Coordinate Safety Efforts: Effectively manage and coordinate contributors within your scope of responsibility, fostering a collaborative environment focused on achieving shared safety goals.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Contribute to product validation plans and actively participate in safety case defenses to secure regulatory approvals. Stay abreast of evolving industry standards and best practices.
- Promote Continuous Improvement: Share valuable insights and lessons learned through studies and real-world experiences, contributing to the ongoing evolution of our RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety) discipline within Alstom.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong technical background and a passion for safety.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field specializing in safety/RAMS.
- Proven experience working with complex industrial systems, particularly those operating under stringent safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills. A proactive and adaptable approach to tackling diverse challenges is essential.
- Proficiency in English is required. Familiarity with statistical analysis, reliability engineering principles, and safety methodologies would be highly advantageous.
