About Technip Energies LyonWithin the TECHNIP Energies universe, the Lyon center is referenced as the group's expertise center in the field of Polyolefins. Specialized in Petrochemistry, Chemistry, Green Chemistry and Life Sciences, it accompanies the development of innovative technologies, in fields such as biotechnologies or synthetic products and bio-sourced hydrocarbons. You have understood, this center of over 500 people, responds to a diversity of engineering projects of various dimensions (over €400 million for some projects) with a positioning on projects of very advanced design and technically very rich for our engineers.
About the JobWe are currently looking for a confirmed Structural Engineer M/F to join our team based in Lyon, France.
Mission and ResponsibilitiesYou will be hierarchically attached to the Head of the Civil Engineering and Operationally to the Project Manager of the Civil Engineering Department to which you are assigned.
You will participate, as part of multidisciplinary teams, in the feasibility studies, design and execution of buildings, structures and foundations for industrial installations in the fields of petrochemistry, chemistry and energy on international contracts of varying scope. Short-term missions are to be expected, in France or abroad.
Main Responsibilities- Write the basic data and technical specifications for the study and realization of reinforced concrete and metal structures
- Fix and define the design principles of the structures, integrating the specificities of each project
- Collect and analyze the input data (loads, interface details, operating constraints,...) from the general installation and other specialties of study for the projects assigned to you in study
- Perform the calculation and dimensioning of reinforced concrete and metal structures, as well as the verification of associated plans
- Carry out structural diagnostics of existing buildings and structures
- Validate and sign off the studies and documents of subcontractors, suppliers and construction companies
- Build the civil engineering quantity estimates (excavation, backfilling, concrete, metalwork,...) by combining structural pre-dimensioning, approach ratios, use of internal tools or benchmarks, as well as using an internal database. For this, you base yourself on the analysis of documents produced by other disciplines of the Engineering (plot, layout, 3D model, routing of the fire network, list of equipment,...)
- Supervise and validate the work of junior engineers and drafters
- Participate in the presentation and defense of study results to clients
You are a graduate of a school of engineering or a university with a specialization in civil engineering / buildings, you justify an experience of over 10 years in a design office in the field of design and execution of reinforced concrete and metal structures in the petrochemical, chemical and petrochemical industries.
You master the STAAD PRO calculation software and are familiar with international regulations (European and American).
You speak English fluently.
You are autonomous, dynamic and open, and like working in a team.
You are mobile for occasional travel abroad.
Your Future at Technip EnergiesDepending on your personal appetite, you can evolve towards expertise in reinforced concrete and/or metal structures, towards other calculation sciences or towards a Civil Engineering Department Manager position in Lyon or in another engineering center.
An experience of supervising works or supporting construction in civil engineering in France or abroad would also allow you to broaden your field of expertise.
Innovative technologies, planning, estimation, market studies or other transversal functions are also possible depending on your skills.
