We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our API Reliability team at Datadog. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for driving reliability initiatives that impact multiple teams across the company.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a team of experienced SREs to build a culture of reliability at Datadog.
- Provide internal tooling and frameworks to empower teams to develop, maintain, and manage web-facing applications.
- Codify proven practices to improve developer experience and service reliability.
- Explore new ways to strengthen, automate, deploy, and manage our web-facing infrastructure at scale on multiple regions and cloud providers.
- Define the future of our API platform and supporting infrastructure.
- Help our group track its engineering risks, prioritize them with other leaders, and organize cross-functional squads to fix them with hands-on technical work.
- Experience in people management, technical leadership, and mentorship.
- Strong experience in the SRE domain, with a focus on distributed web applications and 24/7 production environments.
- Expertise in working with distributed web applications, such as envoy, haproxy, ALB, redis, authn/authz.
- Experience with incident management and a track record as an engineer in the operations of a large site.
- Good coding skills in Go and/or Python, with a focus on automation and infrastructure as code.
- Empathy, collaboration, and communication skills in English.
