Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract Lawyer to join our Global Legal team in Lille, France. As a Contract Lawyer, you will play a key role in supporting the Head of Legal Global Operations in providing strategic legal advice and guidance on large capex projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide legal support to Senior Legal Counsels and Head of Legal Global Operations on large capex projects and initiatives.
- Develop and implement processes and standards for purchasing agreements and related documentation.
- Provide strategic legal advice to large capex projects allocated by Head of Legal Global Operations.
- Identify and report key legal and contractual risks, and suggest strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Manage contractual disputes and litigation, resolving, settling, and escalating as necessary.
- Lead the drafting, negotiating, and management of a wide range of agreements, including purchase agreements, engineering agreements, and construction contracts.
- Support the Head of Legal Global Operations in developing governance, policies, processes, and best practices for purchasing activities and contract management.
- Manage external counsel as needed, providing guidance and support on advisory and litigation matters.
- Master 2 Business Law degree, ideally with a commercial degree such as an MBA or M Sc.
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of business and legal processes.
- Full working proficiency in English.
- Ability to structure and solve complex contractual issues, with a strong focus on results.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to influence others.
- Business acumen and ability to understand technical matters.
- High level of professionalism, with a focus on detail and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
