Java Software Engineer (Full Time Position)Horizon Software is seeking a Java Software Engineer to enhance our dynamic team. Our Engineering Teams are dedicated to architecting, developing, and sustaining the global framework, structure, and functionalities of our primary solutions. These engineers tackle a diverse range of challenges across various software stacks to drive efficiency in our business operations.
What will you be doing?
As part of an Agile team utilizing Scrum and DevOps methodologies in a global setting, you will play a key role in the evolution of our solutions, from initial specifications to final implementation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Crafting and evolving our solutions and their technical advancements,
- Engaging in the specification phases,
- Leveraging your technical acumen to propose, simplify, and critically assess solutions,
- Ensuring quality through automated testing (unit and integration tests),
- Documenting processes and solutions,
- Collaborating with other teams across different regions to advocate for best practices.
What is your technical environment?
- A multi-process application comprising millions of lines in Java SE 8 at the core of our software,
- A user interface built in Swing utilizing JIDE Soft libraries,
- Specialized components in Scala integrated within our software for tailored developments,
- Interaction with various technologies such as React, Kafka, Stack ELK, JMS, REST, Protobuf, and programming languages like C and C++,
- Utilization of a wide range of database management systems (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, etc.) based on client preferences,
- Execution of extensive unit tests (JUnit / Mockito) and integration tests (Cucumber, custom APIs) triggered with every push on our continuous integration servers,
- Development from your machine using Windows 10 or Ubuntu, cloning projects from GitLab, and configuring Gradle projects in your IDE (IntelliJ, Eclipse) to focus on your contributions and submit Merge Requests,
- Open communication with your team and the entire company through Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Outlook, Stream, etc.).

Who are you?
- A graduate from an Engineering School in Computer Science.
- A recent graduate eager to expand your experience in JAVA, ideally within financial markets.
- Proficient in Java programming (Java SE 8) and familiar with at least two associated tools and frameworks (Eclipse/IDEA IntelliJ, JUnit, log4j, Mockito, etc.), with an interest in distributed architectures.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux is essential for success in this role. Familiarity with Swing, Git/SVN, Gradle, Docker, SQL, multi-threading, and Jenkins is highly desirable.
- Independent, meticulous, and enthusiastic about learning in a passionate environment.
- Fluent in English.

What does the recruitment process entail?
