Job Title: Major Gift Officer, North Carolina
Reports to: Director, Donor Relations
Job Summary: The Major Gift Officer plays a crucial role in cultivating and securing major gifts for The Heritage Foundation. This involves managing a portfolio of high-capacity donors, developing strategic plans to engage and steward them, and collaborating with the Development team to achieve fundraising goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective cultivation strategies to identify and qualify major gift prospects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, understanding their interests and needs.
- Prepare and present compelling proposals to secure major gifts.
- Work collaboratively with the Development team to achieve fundraising goals and support the Heritage mission.
- Stay up-to-date on policy issues and the conservative movement to effectively communicate with donors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience in major gift fundraising
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate with a variety of personalities in a tactful, pleasant, and professional manner
- Knowledge of policy issues and the conservative movement
Benefits and Compensation:
The Heritage Foundation offers a competitive benefits package, including best-in-class health care, vision, and dental insurance, employer-sponsored retirement funding, and a salary range of $80,000 - $170,000 annually.
