Job Description

Overview

As a Senior Director of Data Engineering at Publicis Sapient, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of data engineering strategies that drive business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute data architecture assessments to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize data processing and analytics capabilities.
  • Design and implement data transformation strategies that enable seamless data integration and analytics across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Lead the development of modern and enterprise-grade data platforms that meet the needs of large-scale data processing and analytics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver cloud-native data solutions that leverage emerging technologies and trends.
  • Develop and maintain data governance models that ensure data quality, security, and compliance.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in IT with 8+ years in data-related technologies.
  • 3+ years of expertise in cloud-related data services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proven track record of leading data audits, assessments, and strategy development.
  • Experience in designing and delivering data solutions in production, at scale, using modern solutions and stacks.
  • Expertise in data ingestion, distributed data processing, and programming languages (Java, Scala, Python).
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data security, data cataloging, and data lineage concepts.
  • Experience with CI/CD using cloud-based DevOps services or Jenkins/Bamboo.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python notebooks, data pipeline orchestration, and Kafka streaming.
  • Knowledge of Parquet storage, Apache Iceberg, and SQL formatting.
  • Experience with containers, Docker, and Kubernetes Engine.
  • Knowledge of distributed messaging queues (RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ).
  • Experience with data security, raw-level security, multi-tenancy patterns, and column-based masking.
  • One or more traditional ETL tools experience (Informatica, Talend).
  • Knowledge of search/indexing technologies (Solr).
  • Experience with machine learning and agile ways of working (Scrum/Kanban).

Education

Master's/Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
