Research Engineer in Ironmaking

About the RoleWe are seeking a Research Engineer in the Ironmaking department of our Maizières Process lab to lead R&D projects related to the ironmaking decarbonisation and provide technical support to plants. You will be immediately involved in R&D projects related to the agglomeration of iron ores via pelletizing, briquetting, and other processes.
Main Responsibilities- Lead and contribute to R&D projects on agglomeration (pelletizing, briquetting, etc.).
- Supervise and carry out campaigns on a pilot scale (pelletizing disk, pellet pot grate, briquetting machine, and other equipment).
- Study the pelletizing process and fired pellets properties under different conditions in the pilot pellet pot grate.
- Participate in the development of cold bound agglomerates.
- Study alternative agglomeration process.
- Interpret and disseminate findings/results in the form of technical reports.
- Prepare technical presentations and trainings, as a tutor for trainees and technicians.
- You hold a Master's degree or a PhD in one of these fields: Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
- You have a first experience in agglomeration processes (pelletizing, briquetting, etc.).
- You have experience in development and utilization of laboratory scale pilots.
- Your English is fluent and an intermediate level in French is a plus.
- You have excellent communication skills.
- You have adaptability and cross-cultural competence.
