Role Overview:

As a Grid Connection Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration of renewable energy projects into the electricity grid. Your expertise will be crucial in liaising with various stakeholders to facilitate the connection process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage proactively with REE and DNOs to gather essential insights during pre-application meetings and budget discussions.
  • Collaborate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to compile necessary documentation for connection applications.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of application forms and related documents for distribution network connections.
  • Conduct power system studies, including load flow and fault level assessments, to support application processes.
  • Maintain regular communication with REE/DNOs to monitor the progress of ongoing developments.
  • Submit modification applications and variations to DNO connection offers as required.
  • Supervise electrical and power system studies to mitigate risks associated with developments prior to construction.
  • Prepare comprehensive handover documentation for the construction team.
  • Review accepted transmission and distribution grid connection offers for compliance and feasibility.
  • Coordinate with developers and REE/DNOs to stay informed on the status and timelines of grid connections.
  • Critically evaluate Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and general arrangement drawings to ensure their appropriateness.
  • Continuously assess and improve in-house processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure a smooth transition of projects into the construction phase.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in grid connections and power systems related to DNO and TSO.
  • Technical proficiency in electricity transmission and distribution, with a focus on system planning or commercial aspects.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a technical capacity within electricity projects, ideally with experience in submitting or reviewing grid connection applications.
  • A background in electrical engineering is preferred, although relevant postgraduate qualifications may be considered in lieu of extensive industry experience.
