Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee procurement activities in alignment with company policies and standards.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that deliver high levels of customer service while optimizing costs.
  • Engage with customers and suppliers to create cohesive supply chain solutions.
  • Manage departmental budgets effectively.
  • Maintain procurement documentation with a focus on data accuracy.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with Zimmer Biomet standards.
  • Address and resolve invoice queries promptly.
  • Collaborate with European/Global procurement teams to understand cross-functional commodity needs, analyze costs, logistics, quality, and user requirements to prepare recommendations for centralized procurement.
  • Establish and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet delivery expectations.
  • Prepare analytical reports and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collect, analyze, and present data to influence decision-making in areas such as make vs. buy and long-term contracts.
  • Proactively identify and address potential issues that may affect business operations.
  • Assess problems, gather information, and develop alternative solutions and mitigation plans.
  • Define and delegate responsibilities within the team, coordinating efforts as necessary.
  • Evaluate team members' strengths and development needs accurately.
  • Utilize metrics and formal feedback to enhance supplier performance and provide insights to Category Managers.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of planning and purchasing systems, manufacturing processes, accounting principles, budgeting practices, and inventory control.
  • Proficiency in generating action requirements based on ERP system outputs.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ERP systems.
  • Self-motivated team player with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in contract negotiations and project management across functions and sites.
  • Ability to evaluate supplier quotations for quality, quantity, delivery terms, and costs.
  • Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with all organizational levels and external stakeholders.
  • Capability to manage complex problems and make sound decisions under pressure.

What Will Make You Successful

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or Procurement/Sourcing.
  • Ability to meet project objectives on time, working collaboratively and independently as needed.
  • Understanding of legal aspects of purchasing, including contract law, with some international experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of standard purchasing practices and techniques.
  • Proven ability to provide clear direction and priorities within a team.
  • Demonstrated principled leadership and consistent adherence to values and ethics.
  • Strong team collaboration skills to facilitate change within the sourcing category.
  • Advanced knowledge of planning and purchasing systems, as well as accounting principles.
  • Effective analytical, organizational, and communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Ability to maintain effective communication links across departmental staff.
  • Professional interaction with suppliers to uphold the company's image.
