We are seeking a Financial Control Manager for the Western region, responsible for overseeing financial management and accounting operations across Belgium, the Netherlands, and France.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Accounting and Controlling teams in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and accounting standards in both entity and group reporting.
- Oversee internal control mechanisms in accordance with SOX regulations.
- Drive and engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing financial reporting and operational efficiency (including SAP projects, PSCI transitions, etc.).
• Supervise month-end closing processes and reporting for the respective entities. Review and follow up on financial data submitted within the business unit (both internal and external reports).
• Approve or calculate financial journal entries/bookings in line with local and US GAAP standards (with a focus on France).
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions (specifically in France).
• Evaluate financial implications in legal agreements, contingencies, and revenue recognition in accordance with local and US GAAP.
• Supervise internal control processes to ensure SOX compliance.
• Conduct research on technical accounting matters to ensure adherence to regulations.
• Lead projects related to financial reporting and operational improvements.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors.
• Responsible for reporting within the ERP system.
• Authorize banking transactions and payments.
• Ensure timely submission of periodic and annual tax filings.
• Oversee compliance with other statutory reporting obligations (such as social security, Banque de France, Insee, etc.).
• A university degree (or equivalent experience) along with 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a large corporate setting, demonstrating a successful track record in addressing business challenges.
• Proficiency in both English and French.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with SOX controls.
• Strong skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing accurate work.
• Self-motivated individual capable of taking initiative and working independently to meet deadlines for reporting and projects.
• Effective people manager, skilled in guiding and directing a diverse team.
• Ability to operate effectively within a remote team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
