Daily Responsibilities
The Regional Manager for Steam Turbine Projects will be an integral part of the Western Europe Sales team, focusing on technical sales and securing orders for intricate modifications and upgrades of steam turbines and generators within our client base across France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Working closely with the West Europe sales team and Product Competence Centers, the manager will oversee the preparation of proposals, define project strategies, integrate various product line offerings, and conduct negotiations in collaboration with the Regional Sales Team and technical resources from the Product Line.
Key Contributions
· You will lead the project development and quotation process from initial discovery to project handover to the execution team.
· Responsibilities include:
o Collaborating with the Regional Sales Team to identify, assess, develop, and pursue advanced business projects for Steam Turbines & Generators Services.
o Formulating and executing an Annual Operating Plan to achieve individual targets, while planning and forecasting order volumes based on proactive opportunity development within the designated territory.
o Coordinating regional and steam turbine product line technical resources to pursue advanced business opportunities.
o Investigating and evaluating specific advanced business opportunities related to the client’s product and service portfolio, determining bid strategies and solutions.
o Managing the sales pipeline by documenting the lifecycle of advanced business opportunities, ensuring proper entry into the CRM system, and tracking to closure.
o Preparing, coordinating, and conducting project and proposal negotiations in conjunction with product line and regional resources, identifying market pricing levels and applying discounts as necessary in accordance with company policies.
o Coordinating the preparation and monitoring of proposals in support of identified opportunities, including regional cost modeling and guarantees, while integrating multiple product line offerings.
o Assisting customers with cost/benefit analyses to showcase the advantages of utilizing Siemens Energy products.
o Implementing strategic selling methodologies in all sales activities.
o Providing insights into client needs, competitive intelligence, market drivers, and buying influences for the development of new product and service offerings.
o Initiating the management approval process for advanced business in line with global policies.
o Supporting departmental initiatives and opportunities as needed.
Qualifications
· Minimum of 5 years of technical sales experience.
· Bachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a combination of Business and Engineering.
· Familiarity with rotating equipment.
· Proficient in English, both written and spoken; proficiency in French is preferred, with Dutch and/or German being advantageous.
· Strong commercial and contractual acumen to effectively engage with customers, management, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
· Excellent analytical thinking, decision-making, results-oriented mindset, and communication skills.
· Adaptability, creativity, and an open-minded approach.
