Waste Management Specialist

Orano Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Waste Management Specialist to join our team within the nuclear sector.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safe and efficient management of radioactive waste throughout its lifecycle.
- Responsibilities:
- Execute and oversee waste control interventions, adhering to established protocols and regulations.
- Manage and prepare radioactive waste for appropriate disposal methods.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of alpha risk mitigation strategies and best practices.
- Maintain meticulous records and traceability of materials stored in designated areas.
- Provide expert guidance and support on waste management procedures to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Conduct waste removal operations at specific locations, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Accurately count and document drums and laundry bags containing radioactive waste.
- Manage both induced and primary waste streams, adhering to strict regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure unwavering adherence to operational procedures, safety protocols, quality standards, environmental regulations, and health and safety guidelines.
- Prepare comprehensive intervention reports detailing all activities and outcomes.
- Maintain meticulous records of work performed, ensuring complete traceability.
- Promptly report any deviations or non-compliances to the appropriate authorities.
- Actively contribute to process improvement initiatives by suggesting innovative solutions.
- Conduct self-checks on completed work to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment used in waste management operations.
- Work safely and effectively within gloveboxes, adhering to established decontamination procedures.
