Our team consists of over 350 skilled professionals from 38 nations, collaborating to realize this ambitious and innovative vision. Based in Grenoble, we have initiated operations at our Verkor Innovation Centre, which serves as both a research and development hub and a pilot line for cutting-edge technology.
We are currently focused on constructing a state-of-the-art Gigafactory in Dunkirk, with the goal of achieving an initial production capacity of 16 GWh of lithium-ion batteries by 2025, enabling the annual production of 300,000 electric vehicles.
Position Overview:We are seeking a Facility Chemical Engineer to join our Construction team. In this role, you will play a vital part in the development of our future Gigafactory, equipped with advanced machinery for manufacturing battery cells and modules for electric vehicles. Your work will encompass a multidisciplinary approach to engineering, focusing on the physical infrastructure of our industrial facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Design conceptual frameworks for equipment and system enhancements or upgrades.
- Oversee all stages of new construction and renovation projects, including planning, design, execution, and commissioning.
- Draft comprehensive project documentation, including budgets, staffing, schedules, and other relevant project details.
- Conduct technical reviews of projects and provide written feedback, analyses, and recommendations.
- Enhance existing equipment and systems to improve efficiency, safety, reliability, capacity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Supervise the activities of contractors and consultants to ensure adherence to facilities engineering standards.
- Coordinate with consulting engineers, contractors, and maintenance teams during the design and construction phases.
- Create designs, layouts, drawings, and material lists for significant maintenance and facility improvement projects.
- Review structural, mechanical, electrical, utilities, site, environmental, and other engineering drawings for the facility.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with regulatory codes.
- A degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction projects.
- Fluency in both English and French.
- A proactive and results-oriented mindset.
