We are seeking a highly skilled Fabrication Engineer to join our research team at Quandela, a leader in the development and commercialization of quantum computers based on the manipulation of single photons.
As a Fabrication Engineer, you will play a critical role in the optimization of our single-photon sources, working with quantum dots in micropillar cavities to improve their brightness and indistinguishability.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the production of Quandela's single-photon sources, ensuring high-quality devices that meet our research goals.
- Identify and improve fabrication steps impacting device performance, collaborating with our research team to optimize our processes.
- Conceptualize and test new designs for improved SPS brightness and indistinguishability, leveraging your expertise in nano-micro processing techniques.
- Build and operate custom setups to characterize micropillar cavities at cryogenic temperatures, providing critical data for our research roadmap.
- Implement a research roadmap and ensure timely delivery of outcomes, working closely with our production teams to transfer successful results.
- Systematically document the results and report your findings, including patents, scientific publications, and participation in international conferences.
- Master degree or higher in a relevant topic and 3 years' experience (including PhD) in a research laboratory.
- Strong fundamentals in nano-micro processing techniques, including thin film deposition, lithography, etching, etc.
- Understanding of optical microcavities and semiconductor heterostructures, with a proven ability to build and run complex optical experiments from the ground up.
- Software coding using Python or other common languages, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple projects and departments, with a strong team player mentality and ability to work independently.
