Lead Legal Advisor for Southern Europe

Position Overview:Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted senior legal advisor for the Southern Europe Hub, collaborating closely with business leaders and coordinating with fellow legal counsels on a variety of legal, compliance, and governance issues, including sales, distribution, marketing, competition, procurement, operations, employment, and corporate matters.
- Engage in strategic discussions and initiatives with business leaders, contributing significantly to the achievement of strategic objectives in partnership with other legal counsels in the Southern Europe Hub.
- Monitor and communicate relevant policies, laws, and regulations to ensure sustainable business practices. Manage litigation and investigations in local markets, provide training, and ensure alignment with external legal counsel to protect local organizational interests within budget constraints. Draft and review agreements and project documentation.
- Ensure adherence to corporate policies such as the Business Conduct Manual and Anti-Bribery regulations. Manage non-compliance issues in close collaboration with Legal Directors and provide training and coaching on these subjects.
- Foster collaboration with other legal team members across the EMEA region, aligning on primary objectives with relevant business leaders. Liaise with the EMEA Legal Leadership Team and corporate legal department on specific matters. Act as a mentor and point of contact for other legal team members, actively participating in the EMEA legal function and leading certain functional activities.
Candidate Profile:
- A minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience as an attorney, including time spent in a law firm and as a legal counsel in a corporate environment. Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, litigation, regulatory, financial, data privacy, and labor law.
- Significant experience in a business/commercial setting, with a background in business management or executive teams.
- Interest or experience in the tire or automotive industry is advantageous, along with international exposure and familiarity with matrix organizations.
- Proven ability to instill confidence and build effective relationships across all organizational levels.
- Strong capability to manage competing priorities and demonstrate sound commercial judgment.
- Proficient decision-making skills and the ability to address challenges in collaboration with executive management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a clear and concise style.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Fluency in English and French and/or Italian is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
