We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our team at Integrity Marketing Group. As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating and classifying risks to determine insurability and determine targeted carriers based on sales goals.
Key Responsibilities- Review and summarize lifestyle, medical, non-medical, and financial data to accurately evaluate and classify risks
- Identify and address underwriting challenges within life applications, questionnaires, lab results, exams, and medical records
- Consult with agents, brokers, internal staff, insurance companies, medical professionals, and other stakeholders to gather additional information and favorably position risks
- Stay up-to-date on the latest medical advancements and changes that may impact underwriting
- Utilize our Agency Management System (AMS) to document UW summaries and important information related to cases
- Collaborate with senior underwriting staff on case consultations and discussions to facilitate skillset strengthening
- Produce holistic case-by-case solutions that incorporate all dynamics of risk assessment in a multi-carrier brokerage environment
- Participate in underwriting projects, carrier advocacy, and training initiatives
- Minimum 10 years of prior experience in life insurance underwriting
- Strong phone and computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Basic knowledge of life insurance industry, including key carriers and product strengths
- Prior exposure to multi-facet underwriting, including medical, lifestyle, non-medical, and financial considerations
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, medical, or life sciences, or a related field
