Job Details OverviewGroupe Dynamite Inc. (GDI) is a Montréal-based, public company of integrated omni-channel brands, designing and distributing accessible, trend-forward fashion for women since 1975.Our mission of "Empowering YOU to be YOU, one outfit at a time" is brought to life through the GARAGE and DYNAMITE banners and represents the consumer-centric core of GDI's long-standing success as a leading retailer in North America.Today, GDI operates nearly 300 stores across Canada and the United States, as well as shoppable brand experiences at Garageclothing.com and Dynamiteclothing.com.Job Summary:The Design team is looking for a Senior Designer, to be responsible for ensuring the best creations for their commodity, and always staying abreast of new trends and markets to best serve all customer needs.Main Responsibilities:Translate vision and emerging trends into the assigned product lines based on concept direction;Maximize sales and gross profits and minimize shuffles and unplanned markdowns (with Product Manager);Create and coordinate multiple pieces that aim to satisfy our clientele and corresponds to our brand image;Work with technical designers, patternmakers, and fit technicians to ensure our clothing corresponds to our specifics;Build a relationship with the Buying team that fosters the development of innovative, relevant and fashion-forward designs;Build a relationship with the Production team that takes into consideration manufacturing limitations, yet pushes our expectations of quality, lead time and price/value;Research and develop new fabrics, washes, trims and finishes that are within our cost constraints and elevate the brand;Adhere to design calendar;Shop international and domestic market for seasonal research.Qualifications:DEC, Associate or Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design;8+ years of design experience;Detail-oriented and self-motivated;Good Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) skills;Strong color sense;Excellent knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop;French or English is required for daily communication with suppliers, employees, and stakeholders, both within and outside of Quebec;Sound judgment and a good understanding of trends and the fashion apparel industry.At GDI, you will be part of a growing organization that understands the importance of investing in people and offers you:A comprehensive compensation package that includes performance-driven bonuses;A group retirement savings program with employer matching;Flexible group insurance with personalized coverage that meets your needs;An employee discount at Garage and Dynamite;Exclusive private sample sales;A flexible vacation policy;And moreGDI has been repeatedly voted one of Montréal's Top Employers and one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People.Our promise...No day will be like the last-we aim to be better today than we were yesterday.
