Research Engineer in Continuous Casting

**OBSERVABLE UNIVERSE OF THE COMPANY**
Our client, a world's leading steel and mining company, is looking for a Research Engineer in Continuous Casting. This person will be part of the R&D Process lab, which is supporting the group production plants by developing or improving innovative processes to ensure the competitiveness, quality and sustainability of the products.
**MISSIONS**
Reporting directly to the head of the Continuous Casting Team, your missions will include:
- Participate to R&D projects for the development of new or optimized processes in the industrial group plants in the field of steel solidification and internal defects control.
- Develop and implement models to control and predict the internal quality
- Support the group plants for technical assistance
- Design and organize process trials at industrial scale
- Interact with the whole community : plants experts, software engineers, global R&D specialists
**ACADEMIC SPHERE**
You hold a Master, an Engineer degree or a PhD with a strong technical background in materials science, metallurgy or engineering.
**TECHNICAL SPHERE**
- Strong technical background in materials science (metallurgy if possible), thermodynamic and process engineering.
- First experience in continuous casting, ideally also dealing with industrial plants.
- Ability to visualize and analyze a large number of data.
- High proficiency in English, French knowledge or at least willing to learn.
**SOCIAL SPHERE**
- Ability to interact with different types of interlocutors.
- Ability to convince and lead a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to propose new solutions
**SATELLITE INFORMATION**
- Takeoff date: As soon as possible
- Rocket launch site: Metz (France)
- Business Trip: up to 20 % of the working time
- Salary : Depending of the profile
