Maintenance Inspector

**Duties**:
The incumbent performs on-site inspections of materials, equipments, and quality of workmanship for all short-term leased and government-owned residences in the Joint-Mission Housing Pool and is responsible for all technical make-ready aspects. The incumbent inspects homes before the arrival of an officer, prepares statements of work to ensure the apartment meets all safety guidelines and that all technical systems are functioning correctly.

The inspector then ensures that contracted work is performed on-time and correctly and provides after-occupancy support for new arrivals to ensure any pending or delayed items are dealt with promptly. The Maintenance Inspector reports to the Make-Ready Coordinator and through her/him to the PWC Director.

**Qualifications and Evaluations**:

EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience as a maintenance technician.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Journeyman level knowledge in one of the major maintenance trades (electricity, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, etc.) and good overall knowledge of general maintenance operations, standard building and construction practices, evaluation of conformance with basic building code compliance. Basic knowledge of building codes and standard installation practices for residential mechanical and operations systems.

Completion of Secondary School (CAP) in one on the major maintenance trade (electricity, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, painting, etc.).

French (Good Working Knowledge): Speaking/Reading/Writing is required.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Paris, France, may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

**SALARY**: the **annual gross salary includes**:

- the profit sharing allowance,
- the vacation allowance,
- the bonus allowance
- and the “Comité d’Entreprise” allowance.

**MEAL TICKETS**: Meal tickets have a face value of EUR 8.25/day.

60% of the daily amount is paid by the USG. An employee contribution of EUR 3.30 per ticket will be deducted by CGFS through the FSN payroll system. The number of meal tickets is limited to 202 workdays per year.

**TRANSPORTATION**:The Mission provides a transportation allowance to employees who are scheduled to work at least 17.5 hours per week are eligible for a reimbursement of 50% of the cost of public transportation passes purchased for commuting purposes.

Employees who are scheduled to work less than 17.5 hours per week are eligible for a prorated reimbursement of the cost of public transportation passes purchased for commuting purposes. Proration is based on the number of hours worked in a week compared to half a full-time workweek, i.e., 17.5 hour

**HOLIDAYS**: The U.S. Missions in France observe eleven U.S. holidays per year and up to ten French holidays
