Content Writer

Everything we do is for our customers, and we’re currently serving over 10,000+ e-commerce merchants, including : Steve Madden (linked case study), Timbuk2, Decathlon, and Sports Illustrated. They love us for our innovative product, our focus on their ecommerce needs, and, of course, our lightning-fast customer service response times. We raised a total of including x this year our $25 million Series B round in December 2020 and our $30 million Series C round this year. In between, share growth we more than doubled in size in every meaningful way: annual recurring revenue, the size of our customer base, and the size of our Gorgias team, for starters. We’re still growing fast and looking for new teammates who want to grow with us.

**What you’ll do as a writer at Gorgias**:
**_ NOTE_**_: All of the below percentages are just estimates, and the mix will change as our project-load shifts over time._
- [7.5%] **Develop a deep understanding of our audience** — who they are and who they want to become — to ensure our content helps them achieve their goals
- [7.5%] **Work with our product to learn it at a deep level,** to write about it more accurately and in terms of benefits for the reader
- [45%] **Write net-new, search optimized content** to support our middle-funnel (and eventually top-of-funnel) efforts. This program will be very modular, and an interesting writing challenge.
- [10%] **Manage our content production pipeline and calendar**, collaborating with different stakeholders across time zones to move the roughest of drafts through the polishing process until they shine like the queen’s diamonds
- [15%] **Refresh and repurpose existing content** to upgrade the value and expand our reach
- [15%] **Admin tasks like uploading blog posts** and other needed support for the content team

**Who you are**:

- ** You have a learning mindset** (learning new skills and polishing your current ones, consistently). Your writing assignments may change throughout your time at Gorgias, as we tackle new writing problems. You will have multiple experienced content folks to learn from, in this role.
- ** You are agile and adaptable,** with the ability to solve problems independently and learn quickly in the uncharted waters. We’re still building the program — you have to be okay to build it with us.
- ** You excel at collaboration and communication**, and can work with a variety of team members with wide ranges of writing skill and experience
- ** Your writing is engaging and interesting**, in addition to being technically proficient
- ** You can uphold several standards in tandem,** balancing AP style, the rules of grammar, Google’s ranking factors, and our internal style guide
- ** You can sweat the details while considering the bigger picture**: You should be able to translate the overall strategy and brief into high quality writing at the sentence level
- ** You’re tech savvy (we love our tools at Gorgias) and have experience with relevant software categories**, including project management software (we use Asana), CMS software (we use Webflow), CRM software (we use Hubspot), and other popular content tools (we use Ahrefs and Clearscope, among others)
- ** You are passionate.** To be clear, this does not mean you’re going to put in excessive hours and burn out like a cheap candle. That’s not healthy for you or helpful to anyone. What we’re looking for is someone who is going to give 100% during working hours to move the needle on our ambitious goals.
