Research Engineer

**Job Summary**
- This role is responsible for supporting the investigation, design, development, execution, and implementation of scientific research projects to generate new products, technologies, and intellectual property. The role provides information, analysis and recommendations in support of team efforts The role applies basic foundation of a function's principles, theories and concepts to explore emerging technologies and incorporates prototypes seamlessly into the organization's products.

**Responsibilities**
- Participates as a member of team of other research engineers carrying out the investigation, design, development, execution, and implementation of scientific research projects to generate new products, technologies, and intellectual property.
- Conduct research on new and emerging technologies, and evaluate their potential for integration into existing systems.
- Collaborates with product groups to integrate these prototypes into organization's products.
- Applies foundational principles and contributes proactively to projects through research and data analysis support, providing regular updates on accomplishments and impediments.
- Performs laboratory experiments and activities supporting scientific research in accordance with research plan specifications and established procedures.
- Collects, records, and analyzes data using established protocols and analysis processes.
- Assists in the preparation of literature and presentations for peer review, publication, and delivery at industry and scientific events and conferences.
- Develops understanding of and relationship with internal and external partners for scientific research and product development.
- Develops knowledge of research engineering principles and theories for assigned disciplines and research areas.

**Education & Experience** Recommended**
- Four-year Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- Typically has 0-2 years of work experience, preferably in investigation, design and development of research projects, or a related field.
