**Purpose and Scope**
**Responsibilities**
1. Job Assignments: Perform systems analysis, bearing selection, adjusted L10 life calculations, seal and lubricant suggestions. Calculate new fitting practices, review customer seal and lubricant selections, define bearing specifications. Help to prepare technical brochures. Use design tool for initial internal geometry.
2. Performance and Quality Issues: Analyse and resolve underperforming and failed products from the field. Perform advanced damage analysis, including evaluations of geometry, materials, and metallurgy. Review of design concepts. Provide professional and technically appropriate responses to known situations
3. Support the Sales Process: Present technical information to customers. Assist Sales Engineer in the goal to influence buying decisions of customers. Target results to known customer needs, adding value to the customer and to Timken. May receive calls directly from customers without Sales intervention, but continues to ensure Sales participates in the process appropriately.
5. New Business Development: Submit ideas for improvements and enhancements to existing or new products. Launch POR�s and test requests. Test and develop new analysis software from a technical standpoint, and not only functionality. Conduct industry or technology research, and identify trends. Share observations and conclusions with New Business Development associates to guide future development.
6. Knowledge Development: Maintain technical awareness of, and participation in the market place, through reading, visiting existing and prospective customers, attending seminars, trade fairs, training programs, etc.
**Education / Skills**
- Bac+5 in Mechanical Engineering
- Fluent English
- Fluent German
