We are looking for a Communications Officer to join the Europe Communications Team, as part of IFC's Regional Communications Unit in the Communications and Outreach Department, with a focus on Western Europe markets and donor countries.

The Communications Officer will be an integral member of the Regional Communications team, which works closely with IFC operations, the Corporate and Industry Communications Units and Reputational Risk and Issues Management team to advance business development and communicate IFC's impact. Regional Communications Officers engage with a broad spectrum of stakeholders to promote projects that showcase IFC's leadership and innovation as the premier partner of choice for the private sector in emerging and developing economies. The Regional Communications Unit also collaborates regularly with counterparts within the World Bank Group.

**Duties and Accountabilities**:
The position will be based in Paris, France and will report to the Senior Communications Officer and Lead for Western Europe, with a dotted line to the Principal Communications Officer for Europe region. Responsibilities include:
Advice and strategic networking
- Build and nurture a network of contacts with key audiences, including media, private sector players, government bodies, donor representatives, academia, think-tanks, and other international organizations as needed.
- Provide strategic advice to internal clients on communications matters; and advise on trends, news, or changing/unexpected circumstances that may impact IFC and its work and help determine strategic responses.
- Identify/leverage opportunities for proactive, high-impact communications that help position IFC and its projects with relevant audiences.
- Drive and oversee strategic communications partnerships to amplify IFC's voice.
- Respond to routine and non-routine inquiries about IFC's activities/operations to enhance two-way communications and dialogue.
- Ensure that One WBG approach is adequately reflected in communications materials

Messaging, products, and events
- Conceptualize and lead on the preparation and dissemination of communication products (e.g. stories of impact, news releases, op-eds, blog posts, speeches, presentations, briefing notes, online and social media content, thought leadership pieces, issue briefs, talking points, presentations, Q&As, and reactive messaging/holding statements) for both internal and external use, as well as client-facing collaterals and internal staff engagement content.
- Oversee communication activities around IFC-organized events and other public engagement opportunities.

Digital communications and content creation
- Contribute to the development of digital strategies and content (e.g., videos, infographics, and social media campaigns) that resonates with target audiences, including private sector actors and regional stakeholders.
- Ensure digital content aligns with global, regional and industry communication strategies, focusing on engagement and third-party endorsement.

Risk monitoring and mitigation
- Monitor reputational risk issues in European media, and in publications by European CSOs and think-tanks, in close coordination with World Bank Group colleagues.
- Advise internal clients on managing responses in challenging circumstances.
- Work closely with the Reputational Risk and Issue management Unit on reputational risk issues and to manage relationships with European CSOs.

Coordination, quality control, and resource management
- Manage consultants providing communications support such as video producers, photographers, graphic designers, and writers. Actively explore joint activities with other communications teams of the WBG.

Selection Criteria
- Master's degree in communications, journalism, political science, international relations, public affairs, marketing, business/finance with at least 7 years of experience in corporate communications, international relations, public affairs, political science, or other related field.
- Fluency in English and French, with native-level skills in French considered as a strong asset. Fluency in Spanish and/or German is a plus.
