**Regional Strategy Leader - Europe based - M/W/D**:
**Role purpose**

This is a dynamic role that cuts across boundaries and functions, and is primarily responsible for helping the regional leadership define strategic priorities, validating and overseeing execution plans, and ensuring that objectives are achieved. Reporting to the Regional CEO, this individual will engage with and support regional and country leaders to define, and provide overall program management of, the regional strategic agenda. The individual will contribute to the success of the business through (a) delivering high-level strategic/analytical thinking with practical implementation activities (b) assuming day-to-day responsibility for ensuring mission-critical strategic priorities are delivered against, and (c) facilitating the success of business teams through progress management and directing attention to areas where focus is required. In addition to strategic planning and execution, this individual will also be involved on M&A projects. Effective stakeholder management - at the country and regional level - is a critical part of the job.

**Key responsibilities**

**_ Strategic Planning_**
- Lead strategic planning and analysis for the region including but not limited to 3 year plans, strategic investments, strategic review of regional/country/practice businesses plans, research/analysis and understanding, advising and presenting macroeconomic and industry trends at both regional and country level
- Ensure that strategic initiatives are identified, assessed and prioritized based on understanding of regional priorities and external opportunities, and that appropriate resourcing is allocated
- Develop and steer approval of business case including definition of project scope, goals, deliverables and milestones, while providing an element of challenge to ensure projects are ambitious but achievable
- Create and lead strategic investments governance process
- Provide regular reporting of progress to regional and international leadership

**_ Implementation_**
- Perform executive program management, including monitoring progress against deadlines and milestones, and coordinating follow-up with relevant business and functional leaders
- Manage the project implementation process: liaise between relevant stakeholders to ensure collaboration and coordination, identify and anticipate risks and issues, facilitate resolution, mitigation, and appropriate escalation
- Lead the planning of work plans to determine the required tasks and resources (process, functional etc) for complex projects spanning multiple business units
- Manage multiple projects concurrently: provides work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports on a regular basis
- Follow-up to ensure commitments are kept and project benefit realized

**_ III._**_M&A_**:

- Lead or support full spectrum of M&A and inorganic growth activities - pipelining, analysis, negotiation, diligence, completion and integration - in coordination with MMC Corporate Development
- Support pipeline development and management and ensure that relevant leaders are continuously engaged with and nurturing relationships with target prospects

**Qualifications and experience**
- 8-10 years of experience in strategy development and implementation, ideally with experience in consulting or corporate development
- Ability to think strategically, turn ambiguity into structure, and utilize business knowledge and market information to derive implications and insights from qualitative and quantitative data
- Experience or familiarity with insurance or financial services industry is preferred
- Project management experience is important
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to effectively interact with both senior and junior colleagues, and create buy-in and support for strategies/recommendations
- Action-oriented and collaborative doer, able to work independently and act at all levels of organization and need
- Versatile and adaptable, able to learn and operate in an uncertain environment with shifting priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
