Legal Counsel for France

**About the opportunity**:
We are looking for a talented Legal Counsel for France to strengthen our French Legal Team advising the N26 group and French branch on all legal aspects of N26 business in France from regulatory and banking regulation to customer protection and banking operations.

Together with the French Team based in Paris and our Legal Team located across our various jurisdictions and in close coordination with your manager and the senior management of the N26 French branch, you will develop pragmatic solutions with a view to expand N26 business in France in compliance with EU and French regulations.

**In this role, you will**:

- Support the in-house legal team and management with a wide range of legal matters related to N26 business and operations in France and have the exciting opportunity to gain experience in a fast-growing company.
- You'll join the French legal team and advise in the areas of banking and banking supervisory law, financial law, general civil and contract law, consumer and competition law, both under French and EU law.
- You'll handle a variety of legal matters, serving as a legal partner to Product, Business, and Marketing teams to support the launch of new products in France and ensure compliance of N26 operations in France. Your responsibilities will include assisting with new product and feature launches, preparing internal assessments, and reviewing and drafting terms and conditions, contracts, and internal policies.
- You'll assist in structuring and maintaining legal know-how while ensuring that contractual documentation as well as internal policy for France remains up to date.
- After a reasonable onboarding period you will work independently on the projects assigned to you which may include for instance a product segment or entire area of law.

**What you need to be successful**:

- You are thrilled with the idea of working in Europe's first mobile bank with European full banking license while reinventing banking for today's digital world.
- You have completed your legal studies in France (Master 2) and successfully passed the French bar examination (CAPA), as this is a mandatory requirement for this role. International experience, such as an LL.M. or relevant work experience abroad, will be considered a strong asset.
- You have already gained successful professional experience in a reputable law firm or legal department.
- Ideally, you have graduated and/or have acquired work experience in banking law, banking supervisory law or financial law.
- You are a French native speaker and speak English fluently; you have outstanding writing skills in both French and English languages.
- You are hands-on and eager to tackle new topics while demonstrating a quick grasp and experience in conceptual project work.
- You will be an ideal addition to the team and therefore have very good interpersonal skills, pragmatic thinking and working, have a certain zest for action in you.
- You are a team player as well as you can work with a high degree of autonomy.
