**Region Finance Controller**

**Purpose of the job**

The Region Finance Controller is in charge of budgeting and reporting for the region. He/she acts as a business partner for region operational teams and product lines by providing them with quality financial data and analysis in order to improve business performance. He/she is the main point of contact for the business on reporting and controlling matters. Finally, the Region Finance Controller leads on various process improvement and tool implementation tasks as required.

**Accountabilities & authorities**

**Key accountabilities**:

- Provide Region/Business VP & management team with sound & timely financial information as well as transparent risks & opportunities analysis
- Be the financial partner to Region/Cluster/Function/Product Line VP and a key members of Region/PL Management Committee advising, supporting, advising, alerting and challenging Region/Cluster/Function/Product Line management around critical issues to the Region/PL performance
- Create executive management report presentation for all Financial Performance KPIs (orders, P&L, assets & cash)
- Propose appropriate templates and KPIs to help Region/PL monitor business and promote action plans across sites to improve Region/PL performance
- Establish a close relationship with Region/Country and Product Line/Business to ensure full alignment of Region/PL strategy with Alstom group objectives
- Ensure adequate internal controls are implemented and maintained on all units within the scope of the Region
- Manage the financial community and its successful development to meet current & future needs at business and group level
- Driver of innovation and of Finance in Motion roadmap, proposing solutions for the improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function
- Co-ordination between region teams of FP&A, Reporting, Business Performance, Treasury, Cash Management and Operations Controlling, with FP&A counterparts in other regions and with the central, group FP&A teams

**Experience prerequisites & required competences**

**Educational Requirements**
- Engineer/Business/University Degree

**Experience**
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant finance operational experience
- External Audit, Site Control or Project Control experience
- Fluent in English
- Working level in additional European language is a plus

**Competencies & Skills**
- Analytical skills and business acumen
- Ability to work in an international environment and work in/manage remote teams.
- Is able to manage a large controlling department / leader able to lead a team, sharing his/her knowledge, coaching and developing the team
- Familiar with SAP and able to work at expert level in Microsoft Suite
- Demonstrate Teamwork, Honesty, Integrity, Courage and Conviction.
- Resilience, ability to work under pressure and exposure N+1, N+2 or other Finance Managers.
- Autonomous and drives for results.
- Very good communication skills ability to explain complex finance and business topics in a concise manner understandable by a wide audience.
- Good working knowledge of generally accepted accounting practice and ability to quickly assimilate company specific interpretations
