Lead Subsea Engineer

You will be responsible for overseeing the DOAF Engineering team and the delivery of Engineering aspects throughout projects
- or tender life cycle, from initiation at invitation to tender stage, contract signature, project planning, execution, to project close out for projects in Africa Region.

You will manage the Engineering team in preparation and accurate and timely submission of tender / project engineering documentation.

You will ensure input to project planning and execution according to company procedures, standards and contract requirements.

You will lead, coordinate and supervise internal and/or external project engineering resources and subcontractors.

You will report to Project & Operation Director and you will be responsible for the DeepOcean Africa engineering team.

You and your small & muti discipline team will work from the French Office in Sète.

YOUR ROLE

Ensure that all engineering in the project or tender meet the Client’s requirements in addition to all other applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
Manage the engineering resources in projects or tenders as assigned.
Liaise with Project Management / Commercial and supporting engineers on deviations to engineering and contractual principles.
Perform engineering and documentation on time to satisfy Client and project/tender requirements.
Development of optimal technical solutions around available DeepOcean assets in response to client scopes.
Liaise within organization Engineering team as needed in support of Africa Commercial and Project Operations.
Support and develop junior engineers within key location offices in Africa.

YOUR KEY TASKS

Work within engineering team consisting of Engineers, subcontractors and/or consultants in projects, tenders or studies on a daily basis.
Delivery of commercially and technically optimized solutions that are aligned with the client and DeepOcean expectations and are fit for purpose.
Perform engineering tasks according to the Engineering Procedure in a safe and accurately manner.
Assist in planning and execution of marine operations.
Participate in offshore operations as required as part of offshore team.
Perform tasks appointed by the Line Manager or Project Manager.
Organize mobilization and offshore operation as directed within key locations and worksites in Africa.
Ensure clients receive sufficient documentation and updated on progress, within the given deadlines as accountable.
Develop and seek to improve procedures and project documentation
Share and demonstrate special competence/knowledge with colleagues.
Liaise with HSEQS to ensure all project/tender specific HSEQS requirements are met and all necessary documentation is completed.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS SPECIFIC TO THE ROLE

**Essential Qualifications**:
Minimum 7 years relevant in industry related role

**Desirable Qualifications or Equivalent Experience**:
Membership to recognized Industry Engineering body

YOUR DEMONSTRABLE EXPERIENCE SPECIFIC TO THE ROLE

Experience in similar roles within Europe and Africa / international subsea market.
Experience with subsea structures and/or vessels and equipment within SURF-, Decom-, IRM-market or equivalent.
Planning and accomplishment of marine operations according to industry standards
ROV and subsea operations
Intimate knowledge of applicable industry codes and guidance (API, DNV, IMCA, other)
