This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
As a Barclays Fixed Income Financing Credit Trader, the primary job function is to provide leverage to a well-established client franchise by lending cash or securities, either through a repurchase, securities lending, or margin lending agreement. You will generate revenue by capturing bid-offer spread from client trades while managing market risk, liquidity risk, and counterparty credit risk. You’ll work closely with other capital market businesses, firm’s treasury and liquidity management teams.

**What will you be doing?**:

- Managing day to day trading activity with short covering, short dated client trades, specials market, funding of client book and firm inventory, trade booking
- Market making for repo special, sending axes or commentary to sales or clients and initiate trades, daily reviewing on PNL report, producing daily desk flash
- Marketing of product to potential clients, obtaining regular feedback from sales on each price quoted, keeping track of client portfolio
- Analyzing trades on risk parameters, resource allocation, returns, understanding emerging markets and risk involved in various underlying bonds, cash and cds market
- Dealing with cross currency basis, reviewing daily all risk reports, supporting margin teams in relation to bond pricing when they lead to margin disputes
- Maintaining an active relationship with colleagues in PCG, Risk, legal, supporting legal negotiations and risk management
- Being responsible for continuous dialogue with cash trading desk to be aware of markets, spread movements, liquidity on specific names

**What we’re looking for**:

- A basic understanding of regulation and how it impacts the repo and security lending market
- Related work experience which includes exposure to derivative markets
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Proficient in Excel

**Skills that will help you in the role**:

- Experience of fixed income and derivative products
- Proficient in Bloomberg, VBA or other coding experience
- Ability to maintain and prioritize numerous projects simultaneously
- Ability to work with people across various desks in the UK and with colleagues in the US and Asia
