**Missions**
In a context of constant growth and development of its activities, Vaisala France SAS, is hiring an experienced Software Developer.
You will join our Weather and Environment Products and Technologies organization, a home for over two hundred brilliant minds. We are a diverse bunch, but we share the same excitement about how we can make the world a better place with tech.
You will work in the newly founded team developing new digital weather services for renewable energy domain, with a special focus on reusable software components. The team is co-located in Finland and France.
In addition, there will be plenty of opportunities to interact with other talented colleagues across the organization.
As a Software Developer, you will be involved in the development of high quality, easy to maintain, next generation Weather SaaS Infrastructure, based on microservices and event-driven architecture running in the cloud.
As this is something new in Vaisala, you will get to experience all the project phases: design, testing, implementation, and maintenance of the product.
Your main assignments will be:
- Collaborate with the team to define new features.
- Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
- Build robust, reliable, and reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
- Solve complex business problems by using an engineering-centric approach.
- Contribute to technical and architectural decision-making.
- Build robust and scalable APIs.
- Design reliable distributed systems that handle high volumes of data with low latency.
- Maintain and improve the code quality by writing unit tests, integration tests and e2e automations, all while respecting clean code standards.
- Identify and find solutions for bugs and bottlenecks.
- Production of clear and accurate documentation of system interfaces and workflows
- Active contribution to continuous code improvement
**Profil**
You are a graduate with a Master’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position
You speak English (read, write, speak) and are able to work in an English-speaking environment
Technical knowledge and skills:
- Experience with one or more of the following backend languages: NodeJS, Python or Java
- Experience with component-based development using UI Frameworks such as React, Angular
- Strong experience in developing, releasing, and maintaining software products
- Familiar with git version control, Testing framework and CI/CD process
- Familiar with Event driven data processing and messaging systems: Kafka and/or RabbitMQ
- Familiar with RDBMS SQL database and knowledge about at least one NoSQL
- Experience working with Agile Framework
