**Summary**

The Associate Software Engineer will help implement features in a cloud-based architecture as part of a team that delivers critical messaging services. These messaging services are important digital communication channels for our customers. These channels are used by our customers to provide excellent customer experience and therefore must be best in class. The associate software engineer will be enthusiastic and will jump at a chance to learn. Genesys provides an environment that promotes learning, performance, and opportunities for all. **Successful Associate Software Engineers at Genesys will**
- Be able to write software in Java and / or Typescript
- Have a good understanding of software development tools and practices such as Git
- Be willing to learn as well as teach others

- Demonstrate a high level of curiosity and keep abreast of the latest technologies

**Major Responsibilities/Activities**
- Write and deploy quality production code in a cloud-based micro service architecture
- Understand and be able to write all types of tests, unit, integration and post deployment
- Stay current with industry developments and new trends
- Communicate and collaborate with QA and Development on tasks
- Adhere to Genesys Code of Business Conduct and Ethics

**Minimum Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related work experience
- Excitement about working with real world problems
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Be able to work with a remote team via teleconferencing technologies
- Familiarity with NoSQL
- Familiarity with messaging systems and proven integration patterns
- Familiarity with Linux operating environments
- Amazon Web Services (Dynamo, S3, SQS, SNS, etc.)
- Kafka
- Git
- Jenkins
- Maven
