Gas Delivery and Operation 3*8 Shift Officer About US: - Context: **The Short-Term Gas Business Platform manages the delivery of gas and the asset optimization on the European network. We are responsible within S&EM for scheduling, dispatching and balancing ENGIE and affiliates gas portfolios round the clock, seven days a week.** - Role: - In your team your main tasks will be the following: - Conduct of physical operations (balancing, nominations, control & follow-up of matching reports) - Participate to Short term trading activities and asset optimization (shift trading) - Work in shift 3*8 (morning, evening and night) - Acquire and develop an in-depth knowledge and expertise in gas markets operating rules - Put in place and update internal processes to support new businesses and adapt to markets rules changes - Lead various initiatives or projects on operational, digital and commercial activities - Hard skills: **Must have**: - Knowledge in gas European business (contracts, balancing, markets) **Good to have**: - Understanding of trading activities - Programming (preferably Python), Dataiku and data skills - Soft skills: - Team player with good social skills, quick judgment and the ability to operate in a stressful environment - Rigorous & reliable - Investigate and understand complex setups - Develop quickly: - thorough knowledge of the relevant gas grids contracts and regulatory regimes - experience of relevant physical operating rules on gas markets - analysis skills to make quick and good decisions to solve operational incidents - Resilient to stress - Ability to work alone during night, weekends and holidays - Education and professional background: - Engineering School or University Master’s degree : sciences, economics or comparable studies. - First experience in an international energy trading company (Front-office, Operations, Middle-office, Back-office, IT) - Junior 3-5 years experience could fit if very solid - Confirmed >5 years experience - Languages: - Fluent in French and English (oral and written) - Travels: - No travels **_ If you meet these requirements, then you are the talent we are looking for.
