It sets the control methodology and performs 2nd line controls testing. You will be responsible for the management and execution of the permanent control Function, in particular but not limited to the following:
- Managing the permanent control testing process including maintaining the procedures and frameworks that support the permanent control process.
- Ensure compliance with the laws and regulations in force and in particular with the order of 3 December 2014.
- Coordination, drafting, and submission of the Annual Internal Control Report (“Rapport Annuel de Contrôle Interne”
- RACI), and any relevant regulatory report
- Definition and execution of the Permanent Control Plan, including control testing, thematic reviews, and oversight of the 1LoD controls (design and operating effectiveness)
- Maintaining a structured control register/control library mapping
- Ensuring consistent permanent control issue management
- Supporting Regulatory and Audits interactions The Permanent Control team sits within the Enterprise Risk Management Department at Checkout and as a result you will also engage and collaborate closely with the risk management function. You will be expected to work closely with the team and the local risk manager for Checkout SAS. How you’ll make an impact
- Provide reporting on identified findings and follow up on action plans until their remediation
- Engage with Risk owners both locally and globally
- Propose enhancements and track the implementation of corrective measures agreed with the risk owner
- Be proactive to propose controls and solutions following control testing
- Work collaboratively with the Risk Management Function ensuring strong connectivity between the control testing and the risk register Qualifications
- Bilingual Excellence:**Fluency in both English and French is strictly required for this role, as you will be responsible for drafting regulatory reports (RACI) and communicating with French regulators and global stakeholders.
- Professional Experience:**A university degree and 5+ years of experience in risk, compliance, or assurance within the financial services or payments industry.
- Regulatory Expertise:**Strong experience with European regulations and the capability to conceive or adapt control tests based on complex regulatory requirements.
- Strategic Execution: Proven ability to set and execute an annual permanent control test plan and manage the end-to-end testing process.
- Leadership Skills:**Experience managing people, with a proven ability to deliver feedback, mentor a team, and enable others to excel.
- Risk Mastery:**Deep understanding of risk management concepts, such as the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), and how different risk types relate to business processes.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management:**Exceptional communication skills with experience managing key internal stakeholders and supporting regulatory/audit interactions.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data analytics to gain insights into transactions, clients, and products.
- Professional Certification:**An Institute of Internal Audit, internal control, or ACAMS certification is highly preferable.
- Sound Judgement: Reliable when working independently, with the maturity to exercise sound judgement on when to escalate issues.
