The company has a dual-leg growth strategy as a floater EPCI and maintenance services provider and as a wind-farm project developer and co-owner. BW Ideol has two full-scale offshore floating wind turbines in operation in France and Japan, a significant project pipeline, and is supported by BW Offshore’s extensive experience from developing and operating offshore energy production systems.
**Mission**:
In the context of the design, construction and installation of our projects, BW Ideol is looking for a** Offshore structural & mechanical engineer **(Temporary Employment Contract).
- Being attached to the Structural & Mechanical department, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Participate to the design of the floating foundation structure and its steel parts in accordance with offshore standards such as DNV, LR or ABS and within project constraints ;
- Perform global and local structural analyses using finite element modelling with shell or solid elements, verifying their strength, buckling and fatigue resistances ;
- Interface with the design office for general drawings, structural and mechanical drawings ;
- Support commercial offers regarding the structure discipline by delivering particularly structural calculation reports ;
- Verify subcontracted work and compliance of construction with specifications, especially for steel components fabrication process such as welding, rolling process etc ;
- Contribute, with others departments, to the continuous improvement of design, calculation methodologies and tools ;
- Contribute to the development of optimized methods for serial construction.
**Profil**:
- Master of Science in a relevant field of engineering (Mechanics, Strength of materials, Manufacturing processes) ;
- Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in offshore structure (oil & gas), naval architecture, mechanics, or ideally in offshore wind industry ;
- Very good command in Finite Element modelling calculation of at least one design software among NASTRAN, ISYMOST, SESAM, ANSYS, ABAQUS, or other ;
- Experienced in steel structure design and mechanical field according to offshore standards such as DNV, LR, ABS and European standards such as Eurocodes ;
- Comfortable in written communication and reporting; able to provide good quality level documentation ;
- Comfortable to work in a multi-cultural and multi-industry environment ;
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
