Macro Specialist

**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
We are looking for an experienced Macro Specialist for the Investor Relations team in North America.
In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting global macroeconomic data and trends, linking them to the performance of systematic macro investment strategies and frequently presenting the results to clients. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills. You will work closely with the CFM Research team to develop compelling content and portfolio analysis used in internal and investor communications.

The role is based in our New York office

Base salary 225 - 275 K USD + variable compensation + competitive benefits package

**RESPONSIBILITES**:

- You will conduct comprehensive analysis of global economic and financial trends, including macroeconomic indicators, monetary and fiscal policy, and market developments,
- You will link these analyses to the performance of macro investment strategies, including CFM’s own systematic macro strategies
- You will work closely with CFM Researchers to gain a deep understanding of the firm’s macro strategies, portfolio holdings, asset classes, investment process, portfolio construction, risk management and trading processes with the goal of translating into client-facing verbal and written content
- You will monitor and track key economic indicators and data sources, and link to forecasting future trends.
- You will monitor and evaluate the potential impacts of economic indicators and policy changes on macro scenarios, and over time connect the macro views with asset class and strategy views
- You will develop and maintain relationships with external sources of economic information and analysis
- You will communicate findings and analyses to internal and external stakeholders through short write ups, presentations, and other formats
- You will liaise with Compliance and other relevant stakeholders regarding published content, as appropriate

**SKILLSET REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS**:

- You have a minimum of 10 years buy side / sell side experience or research institute with a focus on global macro investment strategies. Experience working internationally in various cultures is desirable.
- You have a master’s degree in economics, econometrics, or other science / math fields
- You have cross-channel (retail, institutional) client experience
- You have strong analytical, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret and model complex economic data and translate into compelling written content
- You have an interest and enthusiasm for systematizing discretionary macro ideas
- You are very proficient with financial and economic analysis software and tools, such as Bloomberg. An experience with econometric modeling packages such as Python is a plus
- You have excellent client-facing and business management skills
- You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- You are an enthusiastic worker willing to do whatever is required to get the job done
- You are detail oriented and intellectually curious
- You have a high level of integrity and a team-first attitude
- You are willing to engage in significant travel long-term
