**HOW you will contribute to the company as a Database Engineer**

We are looking for an autonomous Database Engineer, who will work closely with our technical specialists, in particular collaborate with our Site Reliability Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer and the Data team. On daily basis, you will be taking care of our primary Aurora Postgres DB (450GB) and anticipating our growth in capacity planning and load testing. As you will be our first Database Engineer, you will be the go to person from Pennylane for any database related decisions.

WHAT you can expect from your life at Pennylane*

Within one month:

- You will learn everything about our company, our teams, and our vision during the first onboarding week.
- You will be evangelizing best practices regarding DB interaction to our 100+ software engineers.
- You'll be setting up best practices for security, reliability and performance of our databases.

Within 3-6 months:

- On a daily basis, you will be taking care of our primary Aurora Postgres DB (450GB).
- You will be anticipating our growth with capacity planning and load testing.
- You will be handling maintenance operations and coordinating them with the DB consumers.
- You will be comfortable within your squad perimeter, people and best practices.
- Thanks to your unique personality you will start bring value and new ideas to the business.
