**POSITION**

**Context**
- The omics analysis division consists of a team of talented bioinformatics engineers that provide their expertise in NGS analysis as a service, allowing researchers to answer their research questions by supporting _**them from the conception of their research projects to their publication.**_

**Job description (mission)**

We are currently recruiting a team manager to lead our omics division. The position involves significant freedom to explore new avenues in omics analysis and integrate the team further within the institute’s rich research ecosystem. The activities include:

- Mentor and coach of a dynamic team of bioinformaticians and developers.
- Be the first contact for researchers in translating scientific questions and assist in the analysis and interpretation of NGS analysis.
- Lead new avenues of scientific research in omics and anticipate new scientific and technical developments.
- Organize user meetings and promote the platform’s activities within and outside of the institute.
- Play an active part in local and international partnerships (e.g., Institut Francais de Bioinformatique), and valorize the platform’s activities through publications in scientific journals and conferences.
- Project and resource management of the omics division’s activities.
- Supervise the optimization and maintenance of NGS analysis pipelines.
- Collaborate with the IT department in the research and development of new omics tools and the institute’s omics data warehouse.
- Develop and provide training in NGS and future omics analysis (e.g., proteomics and metabolomics).

**PROFILE**
- **Knowledge (Savoir**_**)**
- PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, genetics, computer science or similar, or MSc with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art NGS analyses, including Bulk RNAseq, small RNAseq, long non-coding RNAseq, Single cell RNAseq, Spatial transcriptomics, Whole Genome/Exome sequencing, ATACseq and ChIPseq.
- **Know-how (Savoir-faire)**_
- Experience in an NGS research environment (academic and/or private enterprises).
- Experience in state-of-the-art human NGS data analysis.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience in Python, R, Linux, and working in HPC environments.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French.
- **Soft skills (Savoir-être**_)
- An ability to foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Flexible and solution-oriented with the ability to communicate with researchers and staff from different backgrounds and with different needs, timetables, and understanding.
- Autonomy and initiative, with a hands-on attitude.

**Conditions**

The Omics Analysis division is part of the transversal Data Analysis Core facility (DAC) that includes three other divisions: Image Analysis, Data Governance & Open Science, and Statistics & Methodology. The DAC is highly integrated within the institute’s research ecosystem, including its other core facilities, research teams and support departments.
