The Global Trade Compliance Specialist is a direct report position to the Senior Global Trade Compliance Manager and provides expert insight concerning the requirements and obligations of Spirent Global Trade activities in the EU, specifically France.

This position contributes (50%) to export compliance and (50%) to import compliance for Spirent France office.

**Responsibilities**:
**Priority Responsibilities**:
Analyze and oversee the importing and exporting of products for our Global business.

Classification according to country specific Customs regulations and trade requirements.

Document on-line processes and procedures for Import/Export Compliance Manual.

Review and approve pre-and post import/export transactions to ensure accuracy and consistency of the data in accordance with accepted and established standards.

**Other Daily Responsibilities**:
Understanding of the Common European Customs Tariff (CCT)Record retention

Maintain alignment between Global Trade Compliance department and other Spirent departments and locations worldwide.

Manage communication with service providers (i.e. Freight Forwarders, Carriers and Customs Brokers etc.)

Ensure Spirent imports and exports satisfy Customs regulations and rules.

Skills and Abilities

Technically minded in product classification

Carnet processing
- Temporary Importing

Demonstration of strong verbal and written communication skills to produce accurate, professional and error-free documents.

Excellent interpersonal and command written/verbal English communication skills

**Skills That Are a Plus**:
Classification of products/parts for import and export

Experience with interacting with French Customs agencies

BTI (Binding Tariff Information)

Sales Force experience

Encryption Products
- Regulatory Issues in EU

Experience working with International Subsidiaries

Telecommunications/Electronics industry background

Strong capability to prioritize tasks and take on additional responsibilities

Working knowledge of ANSSI

Education and Experience

Five years of work experience in a dynamic Global Trade environment with a strong emphasis on import and export compliance.

Practical experience with European Customs laws and regulations as well as France National government regulations.

BA Degree and/or equivalent work experience preferred.

Knowledge of the United States Export Administration Regulations

Experience with the TARIC database

Self-motivated, reliable, and ability to work independently and in a team.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Strong knowledge of PC based systems, Microsoft Word, PPT and Excel.

Excellent attention to details and proficient recordkeeping and database maintenance skills.
