The growing trends toward electrified powertrains sets the stage for exciting new electric products in Garrett's portfolio, including hydrogen fuel cell compressors, E-Turbocharger, and E-Compressors. These new products are helping our customers to deliver superior performance and improved fuel economy and emissions by integrating state-of-the art ultra-high-speed electric motor/generators, power electronics, control electronics, and advance control software.

The **Director of Aerodynamics & Thermal System Simulations **leads a team of technical specialists in simulations and component design to deliver state-of-the-art aerodynamic and thermal system performance and reliability across the Garrett portfolio range, from core turbo to new electrical products and new growth vectors.

He/she is responsible for the end-to-end component design, simulation and validation processes, and their successful deployment across all Garrett business enterprises. He/she works in close partnership with Manufacturing & Sourcing teams to advance further product capabilities, performance & cost.

Driving our digital transformation with new parametric tools, exploring new design spaces, reducing cycle time and administrative efforts.

**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Domain knowledge owner in CFD / Fluids Dynamic from the core science, simulation tools and component design and validation
- Develop tools capability roadmap, high fidelity CFD and parametric design solutions
- Define standard work and design standards at component / sub system level
- Rationalize toolkits, communize on best practices & roll-out across team, automate repetitive tasks to reduce administrative efforts
- Develop productivity target for his team, cycle time reduction and rework loop, right first time design target
- Develop component roadmap and innovation breakthroughs from concept design to manufacturing technologies
- Owner of skills & competencies for his domain, develop capability roadmap and appropriate training modules
- Establish & maintain partnerships with key universities for research & talent pipeline
- Drive preventive reliability in component designs, ensure compliance to process development
- Ensure timely resolution of launch and field issues in his domain expertise, including proper root cause analysis and timely implementation of corrective actions, transfer of lessons-learned

**Qualifications**:

- Master Degree and/or PhD in Aerodynamic / Fluid Dynamics domains
- Highly skilled in advanced simulation and design optimization methodologies and multi-parameter design optimization
- Proven track record in component design and validation
- Passionate about digital transformation, exploiting the use of high computing power and artificial intelligence for parametric optimization
- Exposure to design for manufacturing trade-offs, design to cost and most recent manufacturing technologies
- Open innovation minded and creative
- Demonstrate experience in product and/or process innovation and technology road mapping

**Skills and attributes**:

- Minimum of 15 years relevant experience on the senior management level in R&D in the field of automotive, aerospace or industrial
