R&d Inland Logistic Manager

CMA CGM Group has decided to structure and strengthen its R&D approach by creating a Center of Excellence dedicated to Innovation and Research. The center will increase the company’s capacity for technological and scientific innovation necessary to meet its strategic objectives (decarbonization, digitalization ), while generating profitability and ensure a high visibility on the Group’s commitment to industry’s energy transition. It will rely on strategic industrial and academic partners experts in the industry (universities, laboratories, companies, startups, shipyards, etc.). CMA CGM uses all kind of public funding programs to multiply the effect of its resources in R&D.

**THE ROLE**:
As R&D Inland Logistic Manager, you will be managing the scope of work for this R&D perimeter as well as acting as project manager to boost the delivery and implementation of solutions. In this role, you drive the focus on CMA CGM’s priorities, assess and implement efficiency and decarbonization solutions applicable to the Land-based assets and operations.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**The R&D Inland Logistic Manager will**:
Define the Inland Logistic roadmap with its stakeholders (from different business units) in term of energy and operational efficiency

Test and develop with makers or start-up solutions for the business units of the group requiring its expertise (road truck logistic, truck retrofits and upgrades, rail logistic, ‘finished vehicles’ storage solutions, last mile delivery solutions, support to supply chain storage location enhancement )

Supervise the R&D HVAC / electrical development engineer

Assess available features in the fleet management domain and usage of digital data

Study innovative logistics and supply chain solutions

Set up a technology scouting process & network for best-in-class solutions in inland logistic

Research and implement solutions for Predictive maintenance

In coordination with R&D Energy and Bunkering departments, the R&D Inland Logistic Manager will be involved in studying and assessing Low carbon fuels related solutions.

**PROFILE & QUALIFICATIONS**:
You are graduated from a MSc or “Bac +5” engineering degree with a profile specialized in mechanics, electromechanics, industrialization.

You have at least 12 years of experience in road and transportation domains

You are passionate about innovation and energy transition

You can demonstrate successful experiences in managing projects, technology roll-out and collaboration with makers.

**Knowledge required**:
At ease with Excel, for energy-related calculation (power, consumption, forecast etc...) and Power Point presentations

Skilled in Project Management and reporting

Good knowledge of engines / trucks / road transportation and associated operations, upgrades, maintenance

Exposure to industrialization of products in the mechanical domain

Experience in passing a prototype equipment at medium or large scale roll-out

Practices in financial evaluation (ROI, Total Cost of Ownership, business plan).

**As a plus**:
Experience in Managing funding Projects (Cost Reports, Deliverables )

Experience with ground logistics / digital / data analysis project

Experience with rail-related project

Knowledge on sustainable fuels

Knowledgeable in road and/or rail regulations

Working language is English, being able to speak French (C1 level)

This position is based in Marseille. Travels are required.
