R&d Air Logistic Manager

CMA CGM Group has decided to structure and strengthen its R&D approach by creating a Center of Excellence dedicated to Innovation and Research. The center will increase the company’s capacity for technological and scientific innovation necessary to meet its strategic objectives (decarbonization, digitalization ), while generating profitability and ensure a high visibility on the Group’s commitment to industry’s energy transition. It will rely on strategic industrial and academic partners experts in the industry (universities, laboratories, companies, startups, shipyards, etc.). CMA CGM uses all kind of public funding programs to multiply the effect of its resources in R&D.

**THE ROLE**:
As R&D Air Logistic Manager, you will be managing the scope of work for this R&D perimeter as well as acting as project manager to boost the delivery and implementation of solutions. In this role, you drive the focus on CMA CGM’s priorities, assess and implement efficiency and decarbonization solutions applicable to the Air assets and operations.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**The R&D Air Logistic manager will**:
Test and develop with makers or start-up solutions for the business units of the group requiring its expertise (Air Cargo, CEVA logistic )

Define the Air Logistic roadmap

Identify, test and implement Operational upgrades with the aim to be more efficient and to reduce air and acoustic emissions

Identify, test and implement Operational upgrades and new ‘Air management functions’ (such as Vortex generator) with the aim to reduce air and acoustic emissions

Research and implement solutions for Predictive maintenance

Assess available features in the navigation / positioning / Comm-Sat domain

Study eAirCargo logistics solutions (i.e. eVTOL, eCargo Planes, UAM, etc.)

Set up a technology scouting process & network for best-in-class solutions in air logistics

In coordination with R&D energy and bunkering departments,

Will be involved in studying and assessing investments in Low carbon fuels solutions

**PROFILE & QUALIFICATIONS**:
You are graduated from a MSc or “Bac +5” engineering degree in aeronautical sciences and/or air transport, profile specialized in mechanics, electromechanics, industrial maintenance

You have at least 12 years of experience in aero-related domainS

You are passionate about innovation and energy transition

You can demonstrate successful experiences in managing projects, technology roll-out and collaboration with makers

**Knowledge required**:
At ease with Excel, for energy-related calculation (power, consumption, forecast etc...) and Power Point presentations

Skilled in Project Management and reporting

Good knowledge of Aircraft / drones and associated operations, maintenance

Experience with Aero-related software

Practices in financial evaluation (ROI, Total Cost of Ownership, business plan)

**As a plus**:
Experience in Managing funding Projects (Cost Reports, Deliverables )

Experience with aero-related digital / data analysis project

Knowledge on sustainable fuels

Knowledgeable in aircraft/drone regulations

Working language is English, being able to speak French (C1 level) is appreciated.

This position is based in Marseille. Travels are required.
