Are you a talented bioinformatician with a passion for data analysis and a keen eye for pattern recognition? Thalya is seeking a motivated individual to join our cutting-edge research team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in analyzing large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets to uncover novel insights into RNA biology and plant genetics and have the opportunity to take on leadership roles in driving our research and development efforts.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Design and execute next-generation sequencing experiments (e.g., whole-genome sequencing, RNA sequencing)
- Process and filter raw sequencing data using bioinformatics tools and pipelines
- Perform statistical analysis of genomic and transcriptomic data to identify differentially expressed genes and genetic variants
- Utilize machine learning techniques to uncover patterns and trends in the data
- Work closely with our wet lab scientists to design experiments and interpret results
- Contribute to the development of user-friendly interfaces for RNA design, data analysis and visualization
- Lead projects and train junior members on bioinformatics tools and techniques.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in epigenetics and RNA biology

**Qualifications**:

- Master's degree or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field
- Strong programming skills in R and Python
- Experience with (plant) genomics and transcriptomics
- Experience with bioinformatics tools and software (e.g., SAMtools, GATK, Cufflinks)
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.
- Excellent data analysis and data visualization
- Strong communication, problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills
- Experience in project management and team leadership
