**Description**

If you are an expert Sales Professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson may have that opportunity for you Based in any major city with easy airport access in Europe, you will be responsible for winning the most strategic and sophisticated global projects for Emerson. You are a highly self-motivated, diligent hunter that loves international collaboration. The qualified strategic projects that you will take on can be in traditional markets like the Oil & Gas or Chemical Industries, but also in upcoming markets like Sustainability & Decarbonization. You will represent the entire Emerson Portfolio supported by a team of Emerson business unit or functional professionals.

As European Project Pursuit Leader you will have an external focus in front of customers, as well as an internal focus in Emerson as an overall leader of the multi-disciplinary pursuit team. You will mostly work in a matrix; setting a clear vision and winning strategy for your assigned projects, lead the sales activities and perform extensive communication with all relevant collaborators.

**IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL**
- Develop a project pursuit plan and structure of the core team required to successfully win the pursuit;
- Leading all internal and external project pursuit resources vital to win the assigned project; handling all internal resources including world area sales, business unit sales proposal resources, project execution teams, and executive management;
- Leading all aspects of the development of sales strategy; forging relationships with defined end users, partners and engineering contractors; having direct involvement throughout the project pursuit lifecycle including sales pursuit, proposal generation / submittal, and contract negotiation and then involvement with the project execution, delivery, start-up/ commissioning and final project hand off;
- Improve our Project Win ratio while winning at a price premium based on a differentiated business case and customer value creation and understand the overall Emerson platform profitability guidelines on the global pursuits.

**FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED**
- 10-15 Years sales experience with in-depth multi-division product, services and solutions knowledge;
- Confirmed leadership and management skills;
- Ability to efficiently work in multi-cultural environments
- Experience leading businesses and teams with a sales volume in excess of $10M;
- Strong understanding of project management and execution fundamentals;
- Strong written and verbal communications skills in English and preferably other major international languages;
- In-depth knowledge of professional selling techniques for large capital projects. This requirement will include previous training and extensive experiences with Strategic Selling Solutions Selling Programs, Consultative Selling, presentations, negotiations, conflict management, communications planning and global sales leadership;
- Knowledge of the following industries: Oil & Gas Upstream and Mid-Stream Processes; Basic Refining Processes; Basic Petrochemical Process Life Sciences Operations; Sustainability and Decarbonization;
- Dedication, high energy, cultural agility and cross border collaboration;
- Capable of researching how each customer is measured and ability to develop an appropriate Emerson value proposition;
- Understand contracting strategies, execution practices and measurements with global engineering contractors;
- Undertake international travel; travel at short notice and unforeseen periods away from home.
